Fundraising
Committee Chairperson– This position will oversee the fundraising for the event, seeking new corporate sponsors, contacting our 2009 sponsors, coordinating the efforts of the fundraising volunteers. We will need to raise approximately $7,000 in corporate funds this year to meet our needs for expenses. Meetings will begin monthly in January of 2010 and continue until August of 2010.

Committee Members– These positions will be asked to seek additional sponsorship for this event through community businesses & organizations. We also hope to include some raffle items in the 2010 event – donations will be sought by committee members for those items as well. Meetings will begin monthly in January of 2010 and continue until August of 2010. 

Marketing & Public Relations
Committee Chairperson–This position will oversee the marketing, public relations & advertising for this event. Responsibilities include coordination of printing the registration brochures & materials, posters, local newspaper ads, radio ads & PS announcements, banners & signs for race day, as well as a possible raffle drawing to be held. Thank you packages to our sponsors and thank you ads after the event. Meetings will begin monthly in January of 2010 and continue until August of 2010.

Committee Members–These positions will be asked to assist the Committee Chair by distributing marketing materials locally, contacting newspapers, donors, businesses etc. Meetings will begin monthly in January of 2010 and continue until August of 2010. 

Registration Coordinator
The registration coordinator will oversee the mailing & distribution of registration forms. This individual will also oversee the registration area on race day – assisted by additional volunteers at that time. Attendance would only be required at 1-2 of the monthly meetings as needed. 

Refreshments Coordinator
This individual will be respo nsible for ordering the water/fruit & any other refreshments for race day. Coordinating coolers and other materials as needed. A tent will be set up and free refreshments provided to each participant. A 2nd tent is utilized at the ½ point where water is also available. This individual will be assisted on race day by several additional volunteers. 

Volunteer Coordinator
This individual will set up the race day coordination of all volunteers (approx. 40) – this will include assigning job duties, contacting the volunteers prior to the event to confirm their attendance, distributing their staff t-shirts and providing race day transportation to volunteers needed on the course. 

Race Day Volunteers
We will need 30-40 race day volunteers the morning of the run. These individuals need to arrive between 7AM and 8:30AM depending on where you volunteer to work. Many of the volunteers are done by 10:00AM the day of the race. Positions include: registration area, refreshments area at the start/finish, refreshments area at the ½ way point, course guides (along each turn of the course), 1 & 2 mile timers on the course and finish line attendants (to collect timing chips) to name a few. Volunteers are also needed the evening before the run to set up tents and transport equipment among other things. 


Each volunteer gets a staff t-shirt to wear the day of the race and complimentary refreshments.
Staff onsite will verify community service hours for those who wish to document them as well.
